In September 2023, Bavli Ziv was named one of ten inaugural Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) Diversity Fellows. Joining her from the Biomedical Communications program are alumni Sana Khan, MScBMC '22 and Lilith Lawrence, MScBMC '23. They, along with seven other medical illustrators from across the world, will create original illustrations to enrich a new digital library.

End HIV Stigma is an emotionally affecting video designed to help the public understand what HIV stigma is, and its debilitating effects. Using monsters endowed with human characteristics, Jenn Lee makes stigma real and visible for audiences.

A medical illustrator may well be asked to create illustrations of the brain over the course of their career. But it’s rare that the assignment gets so personal.

Literature and drama interrogate, critique and transform the way people think about the world. We are in a moment of disruption caused by everything from AI to climate change to the new populist nationalism. We need to think carefully about what we want to keep, what we are willing to relinquish, and what we need to restore. The arts and humanities create vital spaces for that kind of work.
